What to do first
Before anything else, stop trying to force the door with the motor or by hand if it is resisting. Forcing a door past a jam, particularly one caused by a spring or cable fault, risks it dropping suddenly or the track bending further.
- Switch off or disconnect the motor at the manual release if the door is fighting it.
- Keep children and pets well away from the opening until it is made safe.

Making an opening secure until we arrive

Storm damage specifically
