Hörmann garage door repair, plus Garador and Novoferm

We repair Hörmann, Garador, Novoferm, SWS, Gliderol, Cardale and most older up-and-over makes across Northern Ireland. Tell us the make and what the door is doing, and we'll bring the right parts where we can — with 24/7 call-outs if the door won't close.

Common faults by door type

Hörmann sectional doors

Broken torsion springs, worn rollers, frayed lift cables and panels knocked out of line are the usual faults. A broken spring is often heard as a loud bang.

Hörmann and Novoferm operators

Lost limit settings, misaligned safety sensors, remote pairing problems and worn drive components cause most motor faults.

Garador up-and-over doors

Snapped or stretched springs, worn cones and lifting arms, sticking locks and broken handles are common on older up-and-over doors.

Novoferm and Cardale up-and-overs

Doors that drop, stick partway or feel very heavy usually have tired springs or worn pivots that need replacing.

SWS and Gliderol roller doors

Roller doors suffer from damaged slats, bent guides, worn bottom rails and motor or limit faults, often after a knock.

Locks and handles

Seized locks, snapped linkages and broken handles are common on older doors and are usually straightforward to replace.

Parts and older doors

Popular makes such as Hörmann, Garador and Novoferm have been fitted in large numbers, so many replacement parts are still easy to get. For older models, some original parts are no longer made, but compatible springs, cables, rollers and operators are often available.

If a door is old enough that a repair would be poor value, we will tell you plainly. Replacing a single part on a door that is worn throughout often just moves the next failure along.

What to tell us when you call

The make and model, if you can find it on a label on the door, frame or motor unit, helps us bring the right parts. Tell us whether the door is up-and-over, sectional, roller or side-hinged, whether it is manual or electric, and what happened when it stopped working.

A photo of the door, the springs and any label is useful if it is safe to take one. Do not try to adjust or release springs yourself — they hold a lot of tension.

All makes, one repair service

We are an independent garage door company, so we repair doors from all of these makes, whoever originally fitted them.

Every repair starts with a check of the whole door, not just the part that failed, so we can tell you whether anything else is close to wearing out.

For any other garage door fault, see our main garage door repair page. Electric door problems are covered on electric garage door repair.

Repairs by make: questions

Do you repair Hörmann garage doors?
Yes. We repair Hörmann sectional, roller and up-and-over garage doors, including springs, cables, rollers, panels, locks and motors. We are an independent repairer and work on the door whoever installed it.
Can you get parts for older Garador doors?
Many parts for older Garador up-and-over doors — springs, cables, locks, handles and lifting gear — are still available or have suitable equivalents. Where a part is no longer made, we will explain the options, including whether a repair is still worthwhile.
Can you fix a Hörmann motor?
Yes. We diagnose and repair Hörmann garage door operators, including remotes, safety sensors, limit settings and drive faults. If a motor is beyond economic repair, we can fit a compatible replacement.
